Bernie (CEO)
Born in 2018 Bernie is the brainpuppy behind DHGS. So wise he started turning grey at the age of 21.
After staying home most days with his brother Baxter he wondered if there was more to life than barking at the postie everyday. In 2022 he came up with the concept and encouraged his mom to leave her career and become a full-time dog groomer so he could sniff other dogs all day.
Bernie can be seen hanging out at the studio counting money and keeping an eye on the business, you will rarely see him asleep on the job.
Baxter (Security)
Baxter does not have the same drive as his brother. He dropped out of training at a young age and has become a conspiracy theorist, trusts very few moving objects and refuses to conform to social norms.
We have been fooled to think he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed with his lack of application but try hiding food and he'll find it in record breaking time.
Baxter can smell trouble with his super dog senses which makes him perfect for head of security at the studio. You may see a lazy Baxter giving you the side eye from his bed on the other side of the room or barking for his life depending on how much he feels you are threatening his life... unless you have food of course.
Emily (Groomer / top dog)
Emily has a degree in Quantity Surveying and a master's in Construction Management which makes her quite underqualified for dog grooming! After working in the construction industry for 15 years she quit in 2022 after Bernie coerced her into working for his new grooming studio... who can say no to that face?
At the age of 34 she started from scratch again using her driven personality to progress through her grooming training to open up her own studio. Emily now holds certifications in pet grooming and first aid and has worked for 4 different grooming salons in Perth.
Emily loves dogs, has a lot of energy and is driven by a fear of not living up to a customer's expectations! Worried to death about doing a bad job drives her to do her absolute best for each dog that comes to the studio with the aim of every pet and owner going home with a smile.
